  On March 21, 2022, China Eastern Airlines Yunnan Co., Ltd. Boeing 737-800 (registration number B-1791) carried out domestic scheduled passenger flights from Kunming Changshui Airport to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport. At 13: 16, the plane took off from Kunming Changshui Airport. After 64 minutes, it deviated from the cruising altitude of 8,900 meters and quickly descended.   The Civil Aviation Administration of China, in conjunction with relevant departments, carried out an in-depth, detailed and rigorous technical investigation of the accident in accordance with the relevant provisions of the China Civil Aviation Regulations, Technical Investigation of Civil Aircraft Accidents (CCAR-395) and Annex 13 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation. Over the past year, the technical investigation team conducted a detailed inspection of the wreckage of the aircraft to determine the possible working conditions of the key control components of the aircraft before falling to the ground, and conducted experiments on more than 100 important wrecks to analyze the causes of damage; Investigate the qualifications and abilities of crew members, flight operation, airworthiness maintenance of aircraft, organization and management of airlines, etc.; Investigate air traffic control services, airport ground support, security inspection and loading of passengers, luggage, cargo and mail, and the carriage of dangerous goods; Combined with the relevant data, the flight state of the aircraft in the final stage is analyzed, and the simulation verification is carried out by using the flight simulator and the real aircraft.

  Up to now, the technical investigation team has carried out a lot of work such as on-site investigation, data inspection, personnel interviews and experimental analysis. However, due to the complexity and rarity of this accident, the investigation is still going on. Subsequently, the technical investigation team will continue to carry out cause analysis and experimental verification on the basis of the previous work, and release relevant information in time according to the investigation progress.
