Brian Krull, global creative director of Magna’s exterior decoration department, said: "Through this technology, we are equivalent to handing designers and engineers a brush to make a design that adapts to the current vehicle, or redesigning directly on a blank and customizable surface to redefine the brand for future electric vehicles and self-driving cars."
Magna Mezzo Panel uses hidden-till-lit lighting, so its surface looks very clean and smooth before lighting is activated, thus providing innovative lighting options. The new Mezzo Panel also has an animated lighting space for conveying vehicle intention and status alarm, and active aerodynamic technology can be added to improve vehicle mileage, while having a futuristic appearance.
In the future, the technology may also use sustainable materials, such as environmentally friendly plastics, coatings and films, to further promote the sustainable development of automobile manufacturers. And sustainable materials can transmit signals, thus achieving seamless integration of ADAS sensors.
Krull said: "Mezzo Panel has unlimited possibilities. We look forward to working with our customers to help them achieve zero emissions through this technology. "
