In May, we announced the first game controller-XboxAdaptiveController, which was specially designed for players with mobility difficulties. Since its announcement, we have also received enthusiastic feedback from the majority of players. At Microsoft, we have been committed to designing and developing products that can meet the needs of different consumers, so that they can get a complete product experience. This concept is also reflected in the design of our product packaging.

Our product packaging design aims to provide users with a unique experience at all stages of the unpacking process. Guide users to complete a reasonable and smooth product unpacking process through packaging contact points, visual and material tips and packaging structure design. When designing the packaging of Xbox "barrier-free controller", we knew that it would be a product serving different types of players with different needs. This means that we need to rethink how to package this product and how to design the unpacking process, so that players can get their important moments in the unpacking process. Unique unpacking is the first product experience that players get since buying, and the design of this link is very important for us.

For the design of Xbox "barrier-free controller", we hope to break through the limits of Microsoft’s previous product packaging design. Therefore, we often ask ourselves in the design process: "What does the packaging of this product need to do?" This is also the beginning for us to rethink the product packaging. There are many design possibilities for the use of packaging space. As far as this product is concerned, we focus on providing convenient and easy-to-operate unpacking experience for players with limited mobility.

From the perspective of Microsoft’s packaging design standards, Xbox "barrier-free controller" is a brand-new challenge for us. Testers of Beta version of product packaging have made great contributions to the overall packaging design evaluation. Many final designs are based on the opinions and feedback of these evaluators. For us, knowing which elements are necessary and which should be avoided is a very valuable experience in this exploration journey.
