As a leading technology with strategic significance, HTS technology has shown wide application prospects in urban power grid transformation, maglev transportation, scientific apparatus and other fields with the rapid development of urbanization and industrialization. At present, the first kilometer-class HTS cable demonstration project in China has been started in the base, and it is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2019.
— The High-temperature Superconductor Industrial Base of Shanghai is located in Baoshan Urban Industrial Park. High-temperature superconducting technol ogy is a cutting-edge technology of strategic significance. With the rapid development of urbanization and industrialization, the technology shows a prospect of finding wider applications in a slew of sectors including urban power grid transformation, magnetic levitation traffic, and large scientific devices. So far, China’s first kilometer-scale high-temperature superconducting cable demonstration project has been started at the base, and it is expected that the cable will be connected with the power grid for operation by the end of 2019.
Baosteel is the base of Shanghai’s fine steel industry. In recent years, Baosteel Group has implemented a large-scale industrial layout adjustment, focusing on the concentration of large-scale production varieties in smelting, hot rolling and extended processing in Baoshan, and actively built a fine steel base in the north, forming three specialized production centers, namely, carbon steel tube fine manufacturing center, stainless steel fine manufacturing center and special steel fine manufacturing center, as well as an extended steel processing base located in Luojing Town, Baoshan.

Science and technolog y innovation carriers of intelligent equipment mainly including robotics occupy an area of 100 thousand square meters now, and will scale up to about 350 thousand square meters by 2020.
