The history of design evolution is a history of human life evolution. With the contemporary digital process and social innovation and transformation, design is closely related to the technology and life of this era. Therefore, the topic of "design leadership" is particularly important in this era.

Gao Shiming said that in the 21st century, we are experiencing a new round of technological acceleration. Art and education are facing new challenges and opportunities at all levels. The development of technology and media has changed art, design and knowledge production, while the Internet, big data and artificial intelligence have brought about a revolution in education and learning. At the same time, the concept of art education and the form of universities are being reshaped. Therefore, we must reshape the new humanity through artistic practice and design. Here, I would like to call for a deeper exploration of the "digital discipline", which will be an important way to the new humanities.
Starting from the phenomenon of "materialization of numbers and digitalization of things", Wang Yun talked about the great transformation and change that the society is facing at present. From Design 1.0 to Design 4.0, major changes in design genes, from design creation to scene revolution, and the rapid development of innovation and industrial design industry in China. Based on the case analysis of outstanding works of the past six Chinese Design Intelligence Awards, he pointed out that the DIA Jinzhi Tower Design Evaluation System, which was constructed by design skills, design methods and design power, clearly mapped out "what is design leadership" with its top-level standards of "social influence and industry demonstration", and then proposed that design, as an innovative learning to face life and production directly, should especially show "great love-great use-great design".
Today, with the unprecedented technological and industrial changes, speed has become an important factor affecting design, which determines the iteration or subversion, existence or disappearance of design and its objects … Time, space, ideas and technology constitute a new four-dimensional design. Professor Wang Yun, combining the practice of street furniture in stormy years, torch design as a cultural symbol, Leishan craft protection plan, low-carbon campus with integration of science and art (WSIS Champion Award), digital-intelligent design of Tiandi Theater and DIA’s innovative platform for China’s design and creation award, has carried out research and discussion on time dimension and single product value, conceptual dimension and cultural innovation, technical dimension and system intelligence, and unbounded space dimension and platform. Finally, Professor Wang Yun, on behalf of the industrial design discipline of China Academy of Fine Arts, sent an invitation to all WDO colleagues to build an "International Design Strategy Advisory Committee", hoping to create a design future together.
Good design is a kind of leadership, which conveys newer ideas and better values with design, forms advantages with more core competitiveness, and gives back to society, solves problems and contributes responsibilities while forming good products and brands.
