  At 8: 00 pm (Beijing time) on Thursday, November 25th, 2021, the long-awaited 25th issue of iCANX Story is about to hit hard. The guest in this issue of Master Story is Professor Bao Minhang from Fudan University, the leader of MEMS in China.

  He was the first person to engage in the research of MEMS in China. He was conscientious in his studies and published many monographs, enjoying a good reputation in the international MEMS field. For students, he is tireless in teaching others, and the students he has trained have blossomed everywhere in the MEMS field; For learning, he is tireless, constantly accumulating, exploring and innovating.

  He is a bridge connecting domestic MEMS field with international academic circles, the founder and pioneer of MEMS field in China, and a scholar who has achieved many "firsts".

  If you are also interested in his experience, please lock in iCANX Story at 8 pm this Thursday to take you to explore the story behind the master.

  In this interview, you will learn:

  1. The specific content, principle and significance of the research on film damping;

  2. Briefly talk about the views on "quantity" and "quality" of thesis writing;

  3. Review the major events experienced in the development of MEMS;

  4. Friendship between teachers and friends in international cooperation and communication;

  5. How to solve scientific research problems innovatively;

  6. Teaching and research experience of being a teacher and friend with young researchers, etc.

  Bao Minhang, a professor at Fudan University, is also a professor at Shanghai Institute of Microsystems and Information Technology. After returning to China in 1981, he took the lead in developing micro-mechanical technology and micro-mechanical sensor technology in China. The research work involves pressure sensor, Hall sensor, ISFET, acceleration sensor and silicon micromachined gyroscope. He has visited U. C. Berkcley, National Microelectronics Center of Spain, Microelectronics Institute of National University of Singapore, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology of Australia and Delft University of the Netherlands. He has written "Micromechanical Transducers" (Elsevier, 2000), "Integrated Sensors" (National Defense Industry Press, 1987) and "English-Chinese Electronic Dictionary" (Shanghai People’s Publishing House, 1974), and has 12 patents and more than 10 scientific and technological achievement awards. In 1988, he was awarded the title of "Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions" by the Ministry of Personnel. He is currently a member of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, deputy director of the Institute of Sensitive Technology of the Institute of Electronics, and vice chairman of the Shanghai Institute of Sensor Technology. Internationally, he is a senior member of IEEE, a bachelor of British Physics Society and a registered physicist, and a director of the international sensor academic conference. In 2019, he was awarded the medal of "Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of People’s Republic of China (PRC)".

  Dr. Zhang Haixia, Professor eecs, an internationally renowned scholar in the field of micro-nano, the founder of the International University Student iCAN Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the International iCAN Alliance, the founder of iCANX Talks, etc. Professor Zhang Haixia’s research group has been focusing on micro-nano systems and micro-energy technology for a long time, which has had a great influence in academic circles at home and abroad. He has published more than 250 academic papers in important international academic journals, and has 42 invention patents authorized by China and 3 invention patents authorized by the United States, and published 8 monographs and books. As the organizer of Beijing Branch of IEEE NTC, 2013 IEEE NEMS International Conference, 2021 IEEE MEMS International Conference and several international conferences. He served as the editorial board of magazines such as IEEE TNano, JMEMS and MNE of Nature Department. Professor Zhang Haixia has won many awards at home and abroad, including the second prize of national technological invention in 2006, the second prize of teaching achievement in Beijing in 2013, the gold prize of Geneva International Invention Exhibition in 2014, the honorary title of excellent teacher in Beijing and top ten tutor in Peking University in 2017, the May 1st Labor Medal in Beijing and the second prize of national teaching achievement in 2018, the teaching guidance meeting of innovation and entrepreneurship of the Ministry of Education in 2019, and the top 50 scientific and technological women in Forbes in 2020.
